Punched Hole

Create a new image, 16.7 million colors.
Using a brush of size 1, draw the shape of your "hole".
With the Magic Wand tool, select the inside of the hole.
Magic Wand settings:
- Match Mode: RGB Value
- Tolerance: 0
- Feather: 0
- Sample Merged: (checked)
Open the background or texture image that you want to use for
the inside of your hole.
Activate the 'working' image again by clicking on the title bar. The
interior of the hole should still be selected from before.
Select the Flood Fill tool.
Settings:
- Fill Style: Pattern
- Match Mode: RGB Value
- Tolerance: 200
- Opacity: 100
- Click on the Options button
- Fill Style: Pattern
- Blend Mode: Normal
- New Pattern Source: Click on the down arrow, scroll down to your desired pattern image and select it.
- Click ok
Fill the inside of the hole.
Do not deselect your selection.
Select Image-Effects-Cutout from the menu bar.
Under "Attributes", uncheck "Fill interior with color".
Make these settings:
- Shadow color: black
- Opacity: 100.
- Set the blur and offsets to the desired values.
