Engraved Text: Part 3

Part Three

If it's not open already, open the cutout 04 image from the first "Engraving" Tip.
Open another window, same size as text window, with a white background.
On the tool palette set the foreground color to 64,0,0 and the background to white (255,255,255).

Select the airbrush tool.

Settings:

Size: 200
Shape:round
Opacity: 75
Paper Texture: woodgrain

Holding the airbrush tool curser in the center of the window, click until desired darkness of your woodgrain is achieved.

engrave 02 On the menu bar, select mask/new/from image
The Add Mask From Image window will open. In the source box, select the cutout04 image, and the Create mask from Source Luminance option.
Click ok.
On the menu bar select view/through mask

engrave 02b On the menu bar, select colors/adjust/brightness/contrast, and set the brightness -100, contrast to 0, which will turn your window almost completely black.

engrave 02a On the menu bar select mask/invert

Deselect image/view through mask.
Sharpen
Save

engrave 06 Add a border, or use on a black background. Sorry, it doesn't do transparencies.
