The Add Mask From Image window will open. In the source box, select the cutout04 image, and the Create mask from Source Luminance option.
Click ok.
On the menu bar select view/through mask

engrave 02a On the menu bar select mask/invert.

engrave 02b On the menu bar, select colors/adjust/brightness/contrast, and set the brightness -100, contrast to 0, which will turn your window almost completely black.

engrave 02 Select mask invert again. Yup, looks like you're right back where you started, but you're almost finished now. The reason we have to go through all of the extra steps is that even though the image above looks like this one, it won't save. If you try to save it without the extra invert, all you'll end up with is the woodgrain, without the text.

Remove the view through image by selecting view/view through image. There should be no check mark next to the 'view through image' option.

engrave 03 Select images/special effects/buttonize.
Set your edge size and transparent edges
Click ok.

engrave 04 If you have the Filter Factory Plugins, you can add a highlight to your button using the Gallery A, Spotlight filter. plugin filter A spotlight

engrave 05 One final step. Select image/special effects/ normal filters and sharpen the image.
Save
