texcut01 1. Open new image (290x90) at 16 mill. colors
2. Background color black (0,0,0) and foreground any color.
3. Using a wide block like font, type any word you want.
4. Using the fill tool, fill in the text with any pattern you wish. I used a wood texture.

texcut02 5. With the text still selected, use the "cutout" filter.
"fill interior with color" not checked
"shadow color" as black
"Opacity" at 200
"blur" at 10
"vertical" at 0
"horizontal" at -5
Tip #1- This will create a cutout effect with a background pattern.

texcut03 6. With the text still selected, use the "Add Drop Shadow.." filter.
"Color" as whatever color you want
"Opacity" at 200
"Blur" at 36
"Vertical" and "Horizontal" at 0
7. Add this drop shadow effect 3-5 times to get a nice glow effect.

texcut04 8. Now unselect the text.
9. Using the retouch tool...
"smudge", 7, "round", 75, "none"
Smudge the glow around the text to create a nice flaming text look.
Tip #2- Cutout with Flame effect
