1. Open new image (290x90) at 16 mill. colors
2. Background color black (0,0,0) and foreground any color.
3. Using a wide block like font, type any word you want.
4. Using the fill tool, fill in the text with any pattern
you wish. I used a wood texture.
5. With the text still selected, use the "cutout" filter.
"fill interior with color" not checked
"shadow color" as black
"Opacity" at 200
"blur" at 10
"vertical" at 0
"horizontal" at -5
Tip #1- This will create a cutout effect with a background pattern.
6. With the text still selected, use the "Add Drop Shadow.." filter.
"Color" as whatever color you want
"Opacity" at 200
"Blur" at 36
"Vertical" and "Horizontal" at 0
7. Add this drop shadow effect 3-5 times to get a nice glow effect.
8. Now unselect the text.
9. Using the retouch tool...
"smudge", 7, "round", 75, "none"
Smudge the glow around the text to create a nice flaming text look.
