ICE TEA TEXT

Note: I used Arial/bold, size 72, and started with a window size of 200 x 100. lbc

text Start with a new image. 400x400, 16 million colors, black background.

Step 1 Add some white text, any font (not too skinny!) and size. I used Arial bold, size 100. Don't check antialias.

Step 2 Deselect the text and Dilate (Image | Special Filters | Dilate).

fill Step 3 Select the text again. One way to do this is: Select the whole image (Selections | Select all). Choose Selections | Modify | Transparent Color. Choose black as Transparent Color. The tolerance should be 0.

Choose red (R:255, G:0, B:0) as foreground color, orange (R:255, G:128, B:0) as background color. Use the Fill tool to fill the text. Be sure to use Linear or Sunburst Gradient.

airbrush Step 4 Add a lunar texture with the Airbrush. Use black (R:O; G:0; B:0) as foreground color.

These should be the setting for the airbrush:

  • Size: 20
  • Shape: Round
  • Opacity: 50
  • Paper texture: Lunar
Run the Airbrush slightly over the text.

hotwax Step 5 Deselect the text (Selections | Select None) and the blur it (Image | Normal Filters | Blur).

Step 6 Choose orange as foreground color again and then apply an Hot Wax Coating (Image | Special Effects | Hot Wax Coating).

Now your done!

Variation

Adjust Hue, Saturation and Luminance (Colors | Adjust | Hue/Saturation/Luminance) with these settings.
  • Hue: 60-100
  • Saturation: 100
  • Luminance: 0
