01 1. Open a new image (16 Million Colors) I used 250 x 90 for mine, but that is up to the person.
2. Foreground to desired color of text. (I used Purple)
3. Add text and de-select.

02 4. Click Image>Edge Filters>Find Edges.

5. Click Image>Special Filters>Dialate. Do this step 4 times.

04 6. Click Image>Normal Filters>Blur More. Do this step 2 or 3 times.

05 7. Add text over the existing mess (*SMILE*) DO NOT DE-SELECT.

06 8. Foreground stays the same color (I use purple), Back ground to a color of your choice. (I used gold). 9. Fill Tool, Tolerance:175 Style:Linear.

07 10. Click Image>Special Effects>Chisel Size:5, Transparent. OK

08 11. Click Image>Normal Filters>Sharpen More. Do this step 2 times. 12. DE-SELECT 13. Save.

Variation:

09 Make it transparent by picking up the light grey color between the letters.. then:
