Gives a nice twisted interior to your text. Works best on small fonts.
1. Take a 16,7M color picture with black background and
white foregound (ie. 400x400 pixels)
3. Take Special effects|cutout, set vertical to 16, and
horizontal to zero. Set Blur to 10, and opacity to
190. The shadowcolor has to be black, and the box
"fill interior color" has to be unchecked. For really
small fonts, you could set vertical to a smaller value.
4. Do these actions sequentially:
special effects|hot wax coating
color|histogram functions|equalize
special effects|hot wax coating (almost there..)
color|histogram functions|equalize
special effects|hot wax coating (pheeew!)
Please note: The last time NO histogram function.
(3 times hotwax, 2 times equalize)
The selection must still be active around the text, or you're watching a complete mess acfter these actions!
5. Select Adjust|Brightness/Contrast to brightness 20 and
contrast 10.
6. Take a normal Special Effects|Cutout and set the
vertical to -4 (or 6 for thick text) and horizontal
to 4. The shadowcolor must be black, and the rest
must remain the same as step 3.
Now do it again, with a white shadowcolor and
invert the vertical (-4 becomes 4) and horizontal (4
becomes -4).
7. Ok, almost done.. Now release the selection and
select colorize. Nice pure colors to use are;
Hue=0 Sat=250 (pure red) or Hue=160 Sat=240 (pure blue)
Don't take yellow or green, the white fuzzed interior
won't be that visible anymore...
Done!
