Both Tony Kamin and Todd (Bighead) Caraher have submitted basically the same tip. Since Tony's tip came in nearly a month before Todd's and since Todd has his tip posted to his website, Bigheads Joint, complete with graphics, I'll just post Tony's tip and let you run over to Todd's Web to check his out.
I apologize to both Tony and Todd for taking so long posting this tip myself. I wanted to make sure that we weren't treading on any copyrights with this one. :)
I have found that the textures are nothing more than grey scale BMP files with a .TEX extension, stored in the PAPERS directory. Also in that directory is a file called PAPERNAM.IDX which holds the names of the paper textures and the files in which they're contained.
I created my own textures by loading in some web page background images, converting them to grey scale and doing any necessary adjustments. For my examples, I used Sharpen More twice, then decreased brightness by 20%. I believe the texture file is nothing more than a mask: the darker parts of the image will allow less "paint" to show through.
Using Save As, I saved my file as a BMP type file with a .TEX extension in the Paint Shop Pro\Papers directory. Then all you need to do is edit the PAPERNAM.IDX file as mentioned above. Simply append a line with a descriptive name as you want it to appear in the Paper Textures Drop Down List Box, and another line with the name of the texture file itself.
You will need to restart Paint Shop Pro in order to use the new texture.
