First you need a new image 16 million colors with a white background and a
bright foreground that is not white, such as Red (Red:255 Green:0
Blue:0)...
1. Click A and select a font that is a medium width; I used a bold
IBMPCDOS which I think came with some programming package that I have, yet
a bold Arial should work(note don't use Times New Roman)... Font Size
should not matter too much, although I used a font size of 36... de-select
the text when you have it entered and centered...
Note: Examples on this page use the font "Blacksmith", set to Bold, size 36 lbc
2. Use Image-"Normal Filters"-Blur More
3. Use Image-"Edge Filters"-Find Vertical edges
4. Use Colors-Adjust-Highlight/MidTone/Shadow with the respective settings
of 100/10/0.
This doesn't look like it changes a lot, yet if you zoom in you
can see that it adds an edge which I like in the finished product...
5. Now use Image-Special Filters-Erode
Optional: At this point it looks pretty cool but you can Colors-Colorize it
to various schemes. I like Hue:255 Saturation:0, which gives a metallic
look...
