Merging Images Revisited
- Open two image files of your choice.
- Size the one that you will paste into the background so that it is half the size of the other image.
Note: These graphics may not be to scale, so do your math and don't 'eyeball' the grahic size
based on what you see here.
- Isolate the rose from the background using the magic wand and the shift key to select multiple areas.
- Note: I used a tolerance of 20, feather 0.
- When you have the majority of the background selected, press the delete key on your keyboard.
- Note: If your rose suddenly disappears, press CTRL+Z on your keyboard to undo the delete, and
try again.
- When all of the background has been deleted, Select the rose.
- Magic Wand, Tolerance 20, Feather 5
- Click in a background area
- Press Shift+V to reverse the selection
- Press CTRL+C to copy the rose
- Activate your background image
- Press CTRL+E to paste the rose into the scene.
- Position your rose and right mouse click to release the selection
- Use the Rectangular Selection Tool to crop the image.
- You can take it one step farther by selecting a rectangular area around the rose
and then clicking on Image/Special Effects/Create Seamless pattern for this effect.
