Draw two more lines going from the top of the vertical line towards each corner. Change color and draw two more lines, one off of each "branch"
Select the retouch tool.
Starting at the base of the "branch"and just a little to one side of the trunk, smudge" the color down the trunk, continuing past the bottom of the line to form a "root."
Repeat on the other side of the tree.
You may have to repeat this several times on both sides to get the trunk wide enough for your tree to have good balance. If you get some black coloring where you don't want it, just smudge it the other way again.
Smudge color from the bottom of the trunk to make center roots.
With the brush size still set to 25, smudge the two remaining branches, pulling some of the primary color into the secondary color when you do.
Set the brush size to 11 and fill in the "twigs."
Select image/edge filter/find vertical edges.
Add a drop shadow!
