Before you de-select the text, go to Image/Rotate on the menu bar.
How can I tilt an image?
Select IMAGE/ROTATE on the menu bar.
If you're looking for 'perspective'
you could use IMAGE/DEFORMATIONS/PERSPECTIVE HORIZONTAL
or PERSPECTIVE VERTICAL.
Another option that gives
some really neat effects is the Filter Factory Gallery L
Perspecular filter.
How do I make 'see-thru" glass text?
Posted by Nathaniel
"See thru" glass text requires an image that is reflected in the glass as well as the image seen thru the
glass.
Place text where desired - DO NOT TURN SELECTION MARQUEE OFF!
Open image that is to be seen thru the glass (same size and resolution as working image)
Select flood fill from the tool pallette - on the style bar select fill style and choose pattern - then select
options and choose the "see thru" image - fill text with image.
DO NOT TURN SELECTION MARQUEE OFF! Close the "see thru" image and open the image
that is reflected and place beside the working image (same size, resolution and screen size as working
image). Select the clone brush and set the opacity scale lower than 5 on the style bar. Use the clone
brush to clone the image to the image beside it as a reflection on the text.
As an added feature, for a 3D effect, "chisel" the edges and add a drop shadow.
The "see thru" image can be distorted using the deformations that can be selected under "image."
Next: Resize your image to fit in the corner, or the whole thing if you want.
Next: Add text after magnifying to about 5 or 6 times normal size so you can see what the heck
you're doing.
Finally: After it's how you like it, just decrease color depth to 256 and save as a gif.
These little gems are usually no bigger than 2 or 3k max.
Tip: Use the lighter gray back ground color and make a black 1 pixel border around the whole image,
and 2 pixels high, black on the bottom and right sides, stopping just short of two pixels (including the
original black border pixel) on the bottom left and top.
How do I make a photo look old?
If you're wanting that old 'flemishtone' look, use Filter Factory G/Ciba-Chrome on the entire graphic.
How do I make soft edges?
Select the area with the rectangular
selection tool, feather set to 20, copy it and paste it into a new window.
For an even softer edge after
you select the area (with the feather set to 20), click on Select on the menu bar, then click Modify,
and then Feather. Set the feather setting to 40, before you do your copy/paste.
How did you make the text on the banner?
I added the text with 'floating' de-selected in the text box, gamma corrected the text selection once it was set into the image, added a black shadow (blur=0) to the right side and a white shadow (blur=0) to the left side.
Is there a way to have an image gradually fade/disolve/wash from right to left, etc. (like a gradient
effect changing colors)
