Transparent Color
When you choose a transparent color, Paint Shop Pro deselects all of the pixels in the selection that match the color you chose.
1. To select a color other than white, black, red, green, or blue, first select it as either the foreground or background color in the color palette.
2. Select Selections/Select All from the menu bar.
3.Select Selections/Modify/Transparent Color from the Menu bar.
4. Use the Transparent Color Drop Down Box to select the color.
- If you are not going to use one of the pre-set colors as your transparent color, select either foreground or background, depending on which is the color of your choice.
5. Use the Tolerance Spin Control to set the color tolerance.
- The color tolerance setting determines how close the color of a pixel must be to the transparent color in order to be deselected.
- The spin control uses a scale of 0 to 200
- 0 tolerance= ony pixels with a perfect color match will be transparent
- 200 tolerance= total tolerance, all pixels will be transparent.
6. Click on the OK Button.
Ok, so now you've got your transparent area... what can you do with it?
You could add a background...
You could change the background color...
Or you could copy/paste your image onto a different image.
